MY VALUES

💛 Passion

I approach my work with enthusiasm and dedication, fueled by my love for creativity and a desire to make a positive impact through design.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Nicole!

I am an entry-level product designer currently completing the final phase of the DesignLab UX Academy bootcamp. Before transitioning into design, I spent four years teaching K-5, where I developed a deep appreciation for equity, accessibility, and empathy—values that now shape my design philosophy. I hold a master's in education from CSUF (Class of 2021) and a bachelor's in communication sciences and disorders, also from CSUF (Class of 2019).

My journey into design began during my postgraduate studies when I created a virtual teaching portfolio on Wix and crafted educational materials on Canva. These projects sparked a passion for web design, blending creativity, education, and business. This passion has grown into a career dedicated to crafting human-centered designs that make meaningful impacts.

What excites me about product design is the ability to merge storytelling, problem-solving, and user advocacy to create equitable and delightful experiences. I am constantly striving to learn and design with empathy and accessibility at the forefront.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, listening to music, experimenting with designs on Canva, and relaxing with a cozy session of Animal Crossing.

😊 Empathy

My teaching experience has instilled in me the importance of authenticity and connection. I prioritize creating designs that feel personal, relatable, and genuinely useful.

Equity

Rooted in my experience as an educator, I am committed to creating designs that provide fair opportunities for all users, ensuring no one is left behind.
